Philosophy

Teeter Tots Early Learning Centre provides care for infants/toddlers  (0–36 months), daycare children (36 months–5 years), and school-age children.

Our environment is thoughtfully designed to be safe, nurturing, and enriched with opportunities for exploration and learning. We follow a play-based learning approach, where children engage in a variety of experiences that foster social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and creative growth. Through play, children develop skills such as problem-solving, independence, and self-expression while also building fine and gross motor abilities.

Learning themes are introduced in meaningful ways, such as seasons, weather, animals, science, cultural diversity, early math, and pre-reading, helping prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. While formal reading and printing are taught in later grades, we focus on building excitement for learning by encouraging curiosity and exploration.

Independence and confidence are key values in our program. Children are supported in making their own choices during free play, solving conflicts with guidance, and creating art freely without adult direction. Healthy living is also encouraged through nutritious food choices and plenty of outdoor play and physical activity. Field trips enrich our program by extending classroom learning into real-world experiences.

Our skilled and caring educators are dedicated to providing an inclusive, respectful, and nurturing environment. We recognize and celebrate each child’s individuality, encouraging self-regulation, independence, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging in a diverse community.

At Teeter Tots, we strive to make a positive and lasting impact on children during these formative years, guiding them as they grow into confident, curious, and compassionate individuals.

We warmly welcome parents to visit at any time and to share in cultural celebrations—whether through food, songs, or stories. Family involvement is an important part of the Teeter Tots experience, and we value your input, ideas, and participation.

Our Mission

We believe children thrive in an environment that celebrates their individuality while supporting their growth emotionally, socially, and creatively. By building on each child’s strengths, interests, and curiosities, we encourage exploration, nurture new skills, and foster meaningful relationships.
